General Job Responsibilities
The Community Bank Deposit Operations Assistant (Assistant) works with staff members system wide assisting with operational guidance and support in all features of deposit operations including the daily operation of various deposit functions, related software and internal banking applications. The Assistant must possess knowledge of all bank products applicable to the assigned position, exhibit the ability to solve problems with attention to details, and fully understand and adhere to all federal and state laws and the policies of the Bank. The Assistant’s role will be dependent on the specific service provided with some Assistants filling multiple roles. The Assistant must exhibit a willingness to be a team player and reports to the designated Deposit Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager.
The Assistant must demonstrate the ability to understand general accounting principles, perform data entry, and review and submit reports. The Assistant must exhibit the ability to research issues and respond to questions, as well as, be familiar with computers and keyboards, including the 10 key feature. The Assistant must exhibit the ability to work well with coworkers and staff members system wide and have the ability to multitask.
Below are examples of job duties related to the specific positions in the Deposit Operations Department. Some Assistants may perform multiple functions and may be assigned other tasks not listed.
Item Processing Assistant – Scan and process Lock Box payments from businesses Mobile Deposit Processing. Branch capture. Mail Processing. Account keying and encoding. Assist internal and external customer with check related items.
Unposted Items Assistant – Thoroughly review, analyze, and question irregularities or unusual occurrences on all accounts with unposted or suspect items. Balancing of internal accounts. Account research. Process online account openings. Assist internal and external customers with account research, unposted items, returned items, and stop payments.
Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent GED required.
Experience: A minimum of one year of work experience in the banking industry or related position requiring customer service and attention to detail preferred.
