Compliance Analyst

General Job Responsibilities:

The Compliance Analyst supports the Bank’s compliance program by performing independent testing and monitoring to assess adherence to federal and state lending and deposit consumer protection regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures. This role assists the Compliance Officer with compliance audits, transaction testing, and regulatory reviews, and helps identify potential compliance risks and control weaknesses. The Compliance Analyst prepares, and documents testing results, supports regulatory examinations and audits, and assists in responding to examiner and auditor requests. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to research regulatory requirements and respond to compliance‑related inquiries. This role reports to the Compliance Officer and works closely with business units to support regulatory compliance across the Bank. The Community Bank Compliance Analyst provides support services system wide in various capacities. The analyst in this classification may carry different functional titles but have similar competencies and education. This position requires in depth attention to detail and a high level of expertise in the Compliance area. The Compliance Analyst assists in gathering detailed information for and communicating with external auditors and examiners as well as performing other duties as assigned. The Compliance Analyst reports to the Compliance Officer. The Compliance Analyst must possess a knowledge of all bank products and services; fully understand and adhere to all federal and state laws and the policies related to the industry and their particular job responsibilities. The Analyst must have the ability to research issues and respond to questions from staff and others, as necessary.

Education and Experience

Education:  Graduation from high school or equivalent GED required, bachelor’s degree in a finance field preferred. Work in the accounting field may substitute for education.

Experience:  A minimum of 2 years work experience preferably in the banking industry.
